With the pilot film "A Call To Arms" starts the new Babylon Series "Crusade". After the defeat of the Shadows, a power vacuum is stay behind in the galaxy. The Drakh, the former ally of the Shadows, want to take up their position. After their homeworld Za'ha'dum was destroyed, they plot revenge and attack Earth. The Alliance can beat back the assault, but the Drakh leave behind a fatal virus in the atmosphere of Earth. In five years the virus will be activate and wipe out all life on Earth.
The Excalibur, a vessel, which was built by Humans and Minbari, set off to find a cure. As the virus is based on Shadow technology, the ship visits strange worlds on the rim, which were former colonies or homeworlds of the First Ones, because they believe to find here only a cure.
